About me
I was born in Orange County, California, and from the age of three was raised in Tampa, Florida. I like to say I survived Florida and at twenty-one I made my way back to California, after a 3-year stop in Newport News, Virginia.
From a young age, I was always interested in art, drawing, and creating small crafts. I also loved playing video games at the arcade or with friends, including Galaga, Mario Kart, and GoldenEye on the N64. In my late teens and early twenties, I played World of Warcraft when the level cap was only 60. My interest in computer and graphic design grew, and I started exploring web design by editing the HTML on my Myspace page, customizing colors and fonts. I enjoyed helping my friends do the same.
Around 20, I discovered a passion for flair bartending. Seeing a lack of video coverage, I started recording and publishing flair bartending competitions on YouTube around 2010, using Bloggie and GoPro cameras. I also competed in many of these competitions.
In 2017, I took my self-taught skills to the next level by studying photo and video production and editing at the UCLA Extension photography program. That same year I worked as a photographer and videographer for the opening of the InterContinental hotel in Downtown Los Angeles. Part of my assignment was to edit some drone footage, which is when I found a passion for drones. I purchased my first drone in 2020 and became TRUST certified in April 2023. In March 2024 I attained my Certificated Remote Pilot License from the FAA to become a commercial operator.
In 2019, I joined the Jewelry Journey Podcast as an audio editor, and over 5 years I have inherited more responsibility, now hosting and producing my own episodes. As of 2024, we have over 220 episodes and have had articles about the podcast published in The NY Times and JCK. I also do video production for a Telecom Law Firm, producing videos, including over 5.5 hours of Continuing Legal Education approved by the State Bar of California.
Now, I’m shooting, editing, and producing professional videos and photos using my Nikon D750, Mavic 3 Classic Drone, and Adobe software. My current focus is capturing Los Angeles through time-lapse drone video and using drones and my Nikon to create dynamic footage of people and events, a true passion and muse for me.
So far, my journey has taken me from gaming and web design to professional-level videography and photography, with some beautiful twists along the way. It’s been an interesting and unconventional journey, allowing me to turn my creative passions into a way of life.
